Petroleum Geologist

Petroleum Geologists study subsurface rock formations, stratigraphy, and structural geology to identify and characterize hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs, supporting exploration drilling decisions and field development planning through seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and basin modeling. They collaborate with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams within oil and gas exploration and production companies. Gulf NOCs and international oil companies operating in MENA remain major employers of petroleum geology expertise.
