Crisis Counselor

Crisis Counselors provide immediate psychological first aid and short-term therapeutic intervention to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, trauma, or other emergency situations via phone, text, chat, or in-person services. They assess risk levels, develop safety plans, provide stabilization support, and connect clients with appropriate follow-up resources. The expansion of crisis response systems and 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline has significantly increased demand for this specialized counseling role.
