Sharia Compliance Officers ensure that all products, services, and transactions of Islamic financial institutions adhere to Sharia principles, reviewing new product proposals, conducting periodic compliance audits, liaising with the Sharia Supervisory Board, and training staff on Islamic finance principles. They serve as the internal gatekeeper ensuring that Islamic banks maintain their religious mandate and the trust of Muslim customers. This senior compliance role is a regulatory requirement for licensed Islamic banks in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Malaysia.
