About This Role
SIROCCO is building the most advanced AI-powered interview preparation and recruitment platform in the world. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll work on state-of-the-art AI systems that are transforming how people prepare for careers and how companies hire talent. You'll develop and optimize ML models that power our hyper-realistic AI avatars, intelligent resume analysis with SHAP-style explainability, automated interview screening, and practice question generation engines. You'll work with cutting-edge LLMs (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini), computer vision models for avatar interactions, and our proprietary explainability algorithms that make AI hiring transparent and trustworthy. This is a unique opportunity to do production ML at scale (thousands of concurrent AI interview sessions), push the boundaries of multimodal AI (text, voice, video), and make AI-powered hiring accessible to millions while eliminating bias. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy ML models for interview analysis, resume parsing, and candidate matching
- Build and optimize AI explainability systems using SHAP, LIME, and custom attribution methods
- Fine-tune and prompt engineer LLMs (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini) for interview generation and evaluation
- Develop real-time inference pipelines with <300ms latency for live AI avatar interactions
- Build ML infrastructure for model training, evaluation, monitoring, and A/B testing
- Collaborate with Engineering to productionize models and integrate into platform
- Research and implement cutting-edge AI techniques (RAG, multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning)
- Analyze model performance, debug issues, and continuously improve accuracy and fairness
- Partner with Product on AI feature roadmap and technical feasibility
Requirements
- 4-7 years experience in ML engineering, AI research, or related field
- Strong fundamentals in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling
- Production experience with LLMs, NLP, and text generation models
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Transformers)
- Experience deploying models to production and building ML infrastructure
- Strong software engineering skills with ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Understanding of model evaluation, bias detection, and AI fairness
- MS/PhD in CS, ML, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
